About Tim
Tim Windhof is a performance coach, the creator of The Saturday Switch breakthrough methodology, and a deeply respected voice in youth soccer development.
Grounded in the professional rigor of the German youth academy system, Tim grew up playing for top German programs, including Fortuna Köln before moving to the United States. Tim brings an international, player-first perspective to his work on the pitch. His extensive background includes serving as the former Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach for Mount Vernon Nazarene University (NAIA) and as the former Club Director for a Columbus Crew affiliated youth club.
Today, he remains deeply active in player development as a District and State Staff Coach for the Ohio Soccer Association’s Olympic Development Program (ODP), and as a youth coach for a premier program offering elite MLS Next and Girls Academy (GA) pathways.
Holding elite credentials, including the German Trainr License and a U.S. Soccer C-License, Tim spent his career frustrated by traditional mental performance methods that relied on endless worksheets to fix automatic physical blocks. To find a better way, he integrated advanced principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and somatic release techniques directly into his coaching structure.
By utilizing these specialized tools, Tim developed a brief-intervention framework that bypasses conscious overthinking, speaking directly to the athlete's nervous system to clear situational blocks at the subcortical level.
Through his premium, 1:1 virtual session program, Tim works with healthy young athletes to permanently dissolve the automatic "Gameday Freeze."
His methodology bridges the gap between training-ground talent and weekend execution, allowing players to step onto the pitch with the exact same freedom, aggression, and joy on Saturday morning that they display every Tuesday night at practice.
